Privacy policy
Last updated October 24, 2026
This policy explains what CHANLR Sports Guide ("we") collects when you use this website, and the rights you have, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states.
The short version
- No accounts, no ad trackers, no advertising cookies. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless page-view analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) that counts visits without identifying you or following you across sites.
- When you tap a TV provider in the channel-number finder, we count that tap anonymously (provider and page type only, by month). No IP address, ZIP, ID or cookie is attached, and we skip the count when your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
- Your teams, services, ZIP code and settings stay in your own browser.
- We don't sell or share personal information, as those words are defined in the CCPA.
What stays on your device
Your favorite teams and wrestlers, streaming services, TV provider, ZIP code and home market are saved only in your browser (localStorage). They aren't sent to us. When you look up a ZIP code, your browser downloads a shared data file named after only the first three digits, so the full ZIP you typed never reaches us. Clear your browser's site data to remove everything.
What our servers receive
Like every website, our host (Cloudflare) receives standard request data when you load a page: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It's used to deliver the site, prevent abuse and keep it secure, and we don't use it to build profiles. Cloudflare's handling is described in its privacy policy.
Cookies and similar tech
We don't set cookies for analytics or advertising. Our page-view counts come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn't use your IP address to track you. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to stop bots. Your chosen TV provider is saved in your own browser's local storage and never sent to us. Because there are no non-essential trackers, we don't show a cookie banner. If that ever changes, we'll ask first and update this page.
Alerts and newsletter
Browser alerts (push notifications) are available: if you turn them on, we store your browser's push address with your chosen teams, provider and market, and you can turn them off anytime in your browser settings. Email signups are a waitlist for now: we store your email, chosen teams, ZIP, provider, market, time zone, how often you want email, and a record of your signup, and we send nothing until our email service launches and you confirm by email. Text alerts aren't available yet. Every email will include an unsubscribe link and our postal address. Texts stop when you reply STOP. See the SMS terms.
Free pick'em
Pick'em picks are saved in your browser only. There's no money and no paid entry.
Your privacy choices (Do Not Sell or Share)
We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we haven't in the past 12 months. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out request automatically. If we ever start selling or sharing, this link will let you opt out first.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to know, access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, and you won't be treated differently for asking. Since most data stays on your device, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. To make a request, email hello@chanlr.com. An authorized agent may ask for you. We'll verify the request and respond within 45 days.
Sensitive data and kids
We don't collect sensitive personal information. The site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Betting odds are for adults 21+ only.
Retention and security
Server request logs are kept only as long as our host's standard retention. Alert data, once alerts exist, is deleted when you unsubscribe.
Third-party links
Links to streaming services and other sites take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
